Hydrangea Heaven
The debate on how many species of Hydrangea is widespread, ranging from 23 to 80 worldwide depending on who you reference. Before you get overwhelmed, there are five to six types most commonly grown in North America. I particularly like the Oakleaf Hydrangea, Climbing Hydrangea and also have used Limelight Standards in my garden design.
A staple of any Canadian garden should be at least one or more of the opulent flowering shrubs from the Hydrangea family (in my humble opinion!). This has been a long standing favourite perennial of the Fussy Gardener since first introduced to it years ago because of its generous bloom, adaptability and fullness of architectural structure all year long.
