In The Garden
I came across Beth Dow’s work a few months ago and then more recently. I particularly loved here series called, “In The Garden”. Something about the tones and texture of the images and the way she frames a shot I find completely captivating. Beth has an eye for irony. The way she frames a shot I find completely captivating. She says of this series, “I’m actually most interested in acts of rebellion against order and design. That might be why I love formal gardens, especially English ones. We kid ourselves that we can impose artificial structure on living, organic things, and go to great lengths to impose our will. We can only fail, and I love those little gestures of failure.”
Well, for those of us who have a natural proclivity to impose our wills on nature, failure of not, we press on to perfection. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do.
